ILLUMINATE

In 2021, Stompin was invited to celebrate Tasdance’s 40th year by participating in a new contemporary, site-specific dance work, Illuminate. Stompin presented an excerpt of the Primary Stompin work - Into View, by Rikki Mace and the 2021 ‘Primary Stompin Plus’ Company Dancers.

“A site responsive dance work featuring Tasdance, pakana kanaplila, DRILL, Second Echo Ensemble, Stompin, and MADE. Set in the majestic Cataract Gorge, ILLUMINATE examines our relationship to place and complexities of living in contemporary lutruwita/Tasmania.

Co-driven by cultural leader Sinsa Mansell, Adam Wheeler and Emma Porteus in collaboration with 50 diverse Tasmanian artists. ILLUMINATE celebrates Tasdance’s 40th Anniversary through the lens of contemporary dance.”
