STILL Drompin
STILL DROMPIN was a dance camp the united the dancers of both Tasmanian youth dance companies, Stompin and DRILL, to celebrate, share and investigate youth dance practice in lutruwita/Tasmania - in the light of Stompin’s 30th Anniversary year. The two companies came together at the Tasdance studio in Launceston, for 3 days of workshops facilitated by professional artists from within the companies ‘families’ - engaging artists from the north and south of the island. Sessions for shared creative practice, supported by professional artists but devised by company members, gave space and time for the young people to share the different processes of the two companies and develop a new small work alongside new peers.
The young people participated in workshops with Adam Wheeler, Angela Barnard, Bec Jones, Gabriel Comerford, and Rikki Mace, as well as working with Artistic Directors Isabella Stone (DRILL) and Caitlin Comerford (Stompin), and developing their own material.
