Location: Launceston, Lutruwita/Tasmania

Contract: 4 days per week, January 2025 – December 2027

Salary: $68,000 p.a. (pro rata) + relocation support and project-based extensions

Stompin is seeking a visionary Artistic Director to join our passionate team and lead our artistic programs from 2025 to 2027. Position Overview

The Artistic Director will oversee the development and delivery of Stompin's annual programs, including a Major Work, Youth Choreographic Project, and Primary Stompin. You’ll collaborate with local and national artists, work alongside our General Manager to develop strategies, secure funding, and ensure all programs meet Stompin’s high artistic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of artistic programs aligned with Stompin’s strategic plan.

  • Collaborate with artists, participants, and the team to create bold and meaningful works.

  • Develop and implement audience engagement strategies and secure funding from private and public sectors.

  • Maintain strong community relationships, fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and safety.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for a dynamic leader with:

  • Experience producing high-calibre performing arts programs.

  • Leadership and team management experience in the arts sector.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially for funding applications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in community-building and working within inclusion and diversity frameworks.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in dance or the performing arts.

  • Experience working with youth and communities.

  • Experience with Squarespace, Canva and Mac operating systems.
